War Thunder’s 14th Anniversary Brings the Maus Back for Research

Any research point invested before Nov. 5 preserves access, letting players finish the German tank afterward.

War Thunder’s 14th-anniversary celebration has brought the Maus back for research for players who have not started it, and a single qualifying battle can earn a commemorative decal.

Both activities run from Oct. 30 at 11:00 GMT through Nov. 5 at 11:00 GMT. The celebration marks 14 years since War Thunder’s Open Beta began on Nov. 1, 2012, according to Gaijin’s anniversary announcement on Steam.

To start researching the Maus, players need Rank V of the German ground forces tree unlocked for research. They can spend research points or convert free research during the event. Even 1 research point put toward the tank before the window closes preserves it for continued research afterward.

The decal has a separate, simple requirement: play 1 battle with any vehicle at Rank III or higher in any game mode before Nov. 5 at 11:00 GMT.

Dreams Come True also runs from Oct. 28 at 11:00 GMT through Nov. 11 at 11:00 GMT, offering a profile frame, decals and the Mistel 2. The unusual aircraft combines an Fw 190 A-8 fighter with its armament removed and a Ju 88 G-1 bomber converted into a shaped-charge warhead.

Many Gaijin Store packs are discounted by up to 50% through Nov. 2 in the anniversary sale. The Gaijin Snail plush is available until Nov. 7 at 16:00 GMT, with shipments scheduled to begin March 12, 2027.
