The Price of Independence is BTR Driver’s alternative to Choose Your Friends Wisely. Completing it is required for the Savior ending route, but does not complete the ending by itself.

Objectives

Locate and obtain the incriminating letter on Customs
Use the transit from Customs to Reserve
Stash the letter on the third floor of the military headquarters on Reserve
Use the transit from Reserve to Woods
Eliminate any 3 targets on Woods
Use the transit from Woods to Lighthouse
Launch a yellow signal flare at the train station warehouse on Lighthouse
Launch a yellow signal flare at the pier on Lighthouse
Survive and extract from Lighthouse
Eliminate 10 Scavs while completing the other objectives

Prepare for the Full Route

Bring 2 RSP-30 reactive signal cartridges (Yellow), or a ZiD SP-81 26×75 signal pistol with 2 26x75mm flare cartridges (Yellow). Dying or extracting before completing all objectives resets fulfilled objectives except the letter collection.

Find the Letter on Customs

Search the third-floor office in the northern industrial plant building. The 5 possible spots are behind the switch box on the left after entering, inside the center fuse box while prone, beside the fallen table, on the shelf next to the desk, and on the desk. The letter enters quest item inventory and is lost if you fail to extract with it.

Transit to Reserve and Stash the Letter

Take the Reserve transit. Stash the letter at the broken crates on the western side of Black Bishop’s third floor.

Transit to Woods

The transit is at the map border northwest of the train yard. Eliminate any 3 targets on Woods; the 10-Scav objective spans the whole route.

Transit to Lighthouse

Take the Lighthouse transit from Woods.

Fire Both Flares and Extract

Launch a yellow flare into the sky at the train station warehouse and another at the pier. Each flare must reach sufficient height. Aim a handheld RSP-30 upward without over-rotating it behind you, then survive and extract from Lighthouse.
