A leaked video appears to show a Chinese workshop converting retail GeForce RTX 5090 cards into dual-slot blower models for AI server racks, as consumer stock remains scarce. It captures a production-style teardown and testing line, but does not establish how many cards the facility handles or how much the operation contributes to shortages.

Workers remove the cards’ three-fan coolers and heatsinks, then separate the GPUs and memory chips from their original boards. HKEPC’s accompanying description says those components are transferred to a different PCB before a two-slot copper-base blower cooler is installed. The design directs hot air out the back and takes up less space, which suits dense, multi-GPU server chassis.
After assembly, the cards are tested on open rigs with graphics loads and stability checks before being repacked for delivery, according to the post. The footage suggests a large operation, but it does not confirm a total number of converted GPUs or show how much this activity affects consumer availability.
