NVIDIA GeForce 621.01 WHQL Driver Adds Support for Phantom Blade Zero and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

The driver adds Advanced Shader Delivery support for Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day, alongside fixes for three game crashes and four general issues.

NVIDIA’s GeForce Game Ready 621.01 WHQL driver adds Game Ready support for Phantom Blade Zero and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, along with Advanced Shader Delivery support for Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day. It also addresses three game crashes and four general issues, including a frame-rate drop on 360Hz G-SYNC Pulsar monitors.

NVIDIA’s release notes also name NBA 2K27, Cyberpunk 2077, and Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown among the latest games and updates supporting DLSS and RTX. Game-specific fixes address a Wuthering Waves crash when NVIDIA Freestyle filters and DLSS Frame Generation are enabled, a Vulkan-related crash in Star Citizen, and a crash in Surviving Mars: Relaunched after updating to R595 drivers.

General fixes cover occasional black flashes on QHD monitors running at 360Hz, FPS dropping to 320FPS on 360Hz G-SYNC Pulsar monitors, Meta Horizon Link streams freezing over USB, and intermittent dimming on certain Asus notebooks after updating to R620 drivers. The driver is available from NVIDIA’s driver page.

Advanced Shader Delivery uses cloud processing to prepare a Precompiled Shader Database tailored to a PC’s hardware and driver. For supported games, the Xbox PC app includes that database with downloads or updates, so shaders can be ready before launch and reduce local compilation waits. NVIDIA says the feature works across RTX 20-series through RTX 50-series GPUs. It is limited to supported games distributed through the Xbox PC app, including qualifying Microsoft Store purchases.

Journalist Sebastian Castellanos said Gears of War: E-Day used about 7-8 GB less system RAM on his RTX 4090 setup after installing 621.01, while CPU use remained relatively high. His reported setup showed 32 GB of RAM and a 2560 x 1440 resolution, so the result describes one configuration rather than a general performance expectation.
