Shrek 2 Remastered Brings 4-Player Co-Op to PS5 on November 10

Aspyr's $29.99 remaster adds 4K visuals, Photo Mode, unlockable cheats, and local, online, or mixed co-op across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, Switch, and PC, with the PC release appearing to follow the PS2 edition rather than the distinct 2004 PC game.

Shrek 2 Remastered brings the 2004 PS2 game to PS5 on November 10, 2026, for $29.99. Aspyr’s remaster supports up to four players and will also arrive on Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.

An Xbox Store listing describes a visual overhaul with improved textures, an updated interface, 4K resolution, and rebuilt cutscenes. Photo Mode and Cheat Mode are also included, with cheats players can unlock.

PC players may get the PS2 edition rather than an updated version of the separate PC game released in 2004. The Steam release appears to follow the console version. A contemporary GameSpot review criticized the original PC edition’s visuals and gameplay and described its runtime as much shorter than the PS2 version.

Players can go solo or team up locally, online, or through a mix of both. Heroes can be swapped at any time, letting players use their different abilities in battles, boss fights, and environmental puzzles. Levels run from Shrek’s swamp to Far Far Away, with characters and moments from the movie alongside hidden Easter eggs.
