Pokémon Night Out Will Bring Shiny Unown and Toxtricity Research to Pokémon GO

Los Angeles hosts the first stop on October 24 at Intuit Dome, followed by London's The O2 Arena on November 10.

Pokémon GO’s Pokémon Night Out bonuses will give concertgoers in Los Angeles and London a chance to find city-specific Location Backgrounds, Toxtricity, and Shiny Unown. Announced October 19, the venue-only activities begin October 24 at Intuit Dome, then return November 10 at The O2 Arena. The concerts celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, with Marshmello headlining and Alison Wonderland also performing.

Raids pair Pikachu and Gengar with location backgrounds

One-star raids will feature Pikachu, while Gengar will appear in three-star raids. Pokémon caught from these raids will receive a Los Angeles or London Location Background based on the concert venue, and both species can appear in their Shiny forms. Lure Modules activated during the event will last one hour, except for Golden Lure Modules.

Timed Research brings Toxtricity and a concert jersey

Trainers who open Pokémon GO at a venue can receive up to two Timed Research opportunities. Tasks offer a chance to encounter Low Key Form or Amped Form Toxtricity and earn an exclusive Pokémon Night Out baseball jersey. The jersey now has a confirmed reward path after appearing among earlier Night Out avatar assets.

The jersey can also be earned through the Los Angeles Twitch livestream on October 24. Trainers who claim that Timed Research will not receive the same research again at the concert.

Wild encounters and Unown add more event targets

Wild encounters will become more frequent at both venues, including Gastly, Voltorb, Alola Marowak, Hoothoot, Murkrow, Houndour, Electrike, Carvanha, Shinx, Zorua, Joltik, Froakie, Dedenne, and Rookidee. Any of these Pokémon may appear Shiny.

Lucky Trainers may also encounter Unown P, N, or O at the venues. All three letters can be Shiny.
