A Pokémon GO player has called attention to a demanding step in the Masterwork Research: Glimmers of Gratitude questline, where the requirements appear to ask for 492 Pokémon originally discovered in each of four regions.
The screenshot shared by Reddit user /u/Mituche shows step 1/7 of the Shaymin-focused research. Kanto is nearly complete at 491 out of 492 Pokémon, while the visible progress sits at 181 for Johto, 181 for Hoenn, and 217 for Sinnoh.
The player’s complaint centers on how often Kanto Pokémon have appeared during the process. They also pointed to Bidoof Spotlight Hour and said they avoided Kanto encounters whenever the game offered two or more Pokémon choices. That is the player’s interpretation of their progress, not confirmation that Pokémon GO is deliberately favoring Kanto across the entire quest.
The research step also displays a reward of 492 XP for each regional requirement. Three groups of 10 items are shown in the rewards area, though the screenshot alone does not identify every item with certainty.
Because the information comes from one player’s screenshot, Trainers should treat the exact task details as an unverified community discovery until Niantic provides its own confirmation or more players report the same requirements.
