After CONTROL Resonant launched on September 24, it sold 1 million copies in three weeks, reaching the mark on Oct. 15 during a crowded PS5 release window. Remedy said the milestone made it the fastest-selling game in its 31-year history. The studio thanked players for their support.

Alan Wake 2 took about two months to reach 1 million copies. Its PC version was limited to the Epic Games Store, which may have constrained sales, so the two timelines are not a direct comparison.
Remedy had signaled strong interest before release. Its 2026 half-year report cited 1.5 million wishlists and top-three preorder rankings in the United States, Germany, and Brazil.
CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon called the sales result a “very strong start” and described CONTROL Resonant as Remedy’s first self-published release at this scale. He said it had connected with longtime fans while bringing a significant number of new players into the series, strengthening its longer-term potential. Remedy plans to build on both Control and Alan Wake.
The next scheduled look at Remedy’s financial results is its Q3 business review on Nov. 3.
