Steam reached 43,505,724 concurrent users on Oct. 11, setting a new record for the platform. SteamDB’s statistics show the previous peak was 42,686,616 in March 2026, making the October record 819,108 higher.
A concurrent-user peak is not the same as an in-game player count. At Steam’s January 5 peak of 41,816,052, about 13.4 million people were actively playing, while the platform total also included users signed in outside a game. Steam’s January peak provides an earlier comparison, but it was surpassed by the March record.
Counter-Strike 2, Deadlock, and Dota 2 were Steam’s three most-played games around the new peak. Deadlock had also set its own Steam peak of 262,145 concurrent players on Oct. 9 during the City Never Sleeps hero rollout. That game-level peak came two days before Steam’s platform record, but the timing does not show how much Deadlock contributed to the overall total.
