Beast of Reincarnation v1.1.01 Adds a Route to Skip 3 Zones

After clearing Great Wall Terraces, players can bypass three zones, though skipping them during a New Game run blocks achievements tied to those areas.

Beast of Reincarnation version 1.1.01 gives players a choice after they clear the Great Wall Terraces Zone: continue through the next three zones or skip ahead toward the Capital. The Steam patch notes identify this as the game’s eighth update since launch.

The shortcut covers Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone, and Fuji Frontier Zone. Choosing “Hasten to the Capital” during a New Game run prevents players from earning achievements available in those areas on that run. They can still unlock those achievements in New Game+ by choosing the Mountain Route.

The route bypass had been among the changes Game Freak planned after version 1.0.12. Version 1.1.01 also adds a field-of-view setting and a toggle for showing or hiding cutscene and event skip prompts. Further changes adjust cutscene pacing and address issues with subtitles, soft locks, character positions, camera angles, combat, and environmental collisions.

Beast of Reincarnation v1.1.01 Patch Notes

  • New Story Progression Option
    • After clearing the mid-game Great Wall Terraces Zone, players can now choose whether to bypass the three subsequent zones (Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone, and Fuji Frontier Zone) or play through them normally.
      • This option allows players who want to focus primarily on the story to reach the Capital faster, as well as give New Game+ players the flexibility to progress more quickly through the game during additional playthroughs.
      • Note: If you select “Hasten to the Capital,” achievements obtainable in Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone, and Fuji Frontier Zone during a New Game run cannot be earned. However, these achievements can still be unlocked on a New Game+ run by selecting the Mountain Route.
  • Added a Field of View (FOV) adjustment setting in the Options menu.
  • Added an option to show or hide cutscene/event “skip” prompts in the Settings menu.
  • Event & Cutscene Improvements
    • Adjusted line pacing and staging timing across numerous event cutscenes.
    • Fixed an issue where dialogue subtitles remained on screen after skipping an event.
    • Fixed an issue where rapidly skipping certain events could cause the game to soft lock or become unresponsive.
    • Fixed an issue where character positioning or camera angles appeared unnatural after skipping an event.
  • Bug Fixes & Technical Improvements
    • Fixed an issue where manually canceling Entanglement Overdrive would inadvertently toggle target lock-on ON/OFF.
    • Fixed an issue where canceling a strongbox unlocking sequence while activating Koo’s Bloom Art would cause the camera to lock onto Koo.
    • Fixed an issue where Koo would use items on staggered enemies.
    • Fixed an issue where the “staggered” (“絶”) graphic would remain on screen.
    • Fixed an issue where “Manual: Explosive Arrow” obtained from a Keeper Golem could not be obtained in New Game+.
    • Distributed effect generation processing load to improve overall game performance.
    • Fixed various environmental issues across all regions, including gaps in the environment, clipping models, and unnatural invisible walls.
    • Adjusted submersion detection depth and collision boundaries across all zones.

Fictions and Game Freak say the next patch is currently planned for October 19, though its final date is still to be confirmed. It is planned as the last patch in the current phase of major post-launch updates. Frequent updates will wind down, but the developers say they may address remaining major concerns in that patch or a later one.
