Resident Evil Requiem Writer Says DLC Will Expand on Spencer’s Arc
Capcom announced the story expansion in March, and Orkin's comment identifies Spencer's arc as one thread it will develop, without confirming a return to the Spencer Mansion.

Resident Evil Requiem writer Haris Orkin says the planned story expansion will help players understand Oswell E. Spencer’s arc more fully. At 27:48 in a Meadowlark Comic Con interview, he said, “We have an arc for Spencer in Requiem, you kind of understand that more, and then in the DLC you’ll understand it even further.” He added, “I probably shouldn’t say that, but yeah!”
Capcom announced the story expansion in March. Director Koshi Nakanishi had described it as a deeper look into Requiem’s world, and Orkin’s comment points to Spencer as one character whose story the expansion will develop. Spencer co-founded Umbrella and has been a central antagonist in the series. Requiem adds context to his character and motivations, giving the expansion an existing story thread to build on.
Orkin’s comment was also discussed in a Reddit thread. He also has a writing credit on Resident Evil Village’s Shadows of Rose. The separate free side DLC Capcom shadow-dropped is distinct from the story expansion he discussed.
A return to Spencer Mansion remains unconfirmed. Dusk Golem said Capcom had worked on bringing the original game’s mansion into Requiem, but that material did not make the final game. He also said he did not know whether it would appear in DLC. Orkin spoke about Spencer’s character arc, not a return to the mansion.
(2/2) I never said this publicly (& glad I didn't as people might be trying to execute me if I did), but I am aware they did work on a return to the RE1 Mansion that's just not in the final game.
To see if they use scrapped stuff in DLC or something, who knows? I don't.
