Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.9.1 Is Live With DLC Avatars and Bug Fixes
Players who own the matching DLCs receive 13 Hunter avatars automatically, while the premium Cursed Kin challenge offers four chapters of rewards.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.9.1 is live, adding a batch of DLC Hunter profile avatars and the premium Cursed Kin Story Challenge. The Steam announcement also details fixes for an infinite Dark Sight exploit, controller sprint behavior, Bloodskin issues, and several other gameplay and interface problems.
Players who own the corresponding DLCs receive the new avatars automatically. Cursed Kin has four chapters, with rewards including Cousin Jed as a Legendary Hunter, a Combat Axe skin, a profile frame, an equipment animation, and a charm. Update 2.9.1 is also live ahead of Blood Testament Chapter 2, scheduled for October 6.
The fixes address issues ranging from Trait sales and Challenge progress to Bloodskin’s teleport audio and a spot at First Testimonial Church where players could avoid the Boss Target’s attacks. Console-specific changes also cover promotional links, PlayStation image loading, and Quick Slot assignments on PlayStation and Xbox.

- Fixed an issue where unlocked “Blood Testament” Battle Pass Skins could not be equipped until their corresponding item variants had been unlocked.
- Fixed an issue where teammate voice volume could become too quiet after enabling Proximity Chat in the settings.
- Fixed the missing name for the “The Atlas” Tarot Card in the swap tooltip.
- Fixed an issue where the Burgess shotgun Equipment Animation would not play in the menu in some cases.
- Fixed an issue where the “Temperance” and “The Atlas” Tarot Cards would not appear in the Gear Screen when none remained in the player’s inventory.
- Fixed an issue on Steam where the “Buy Blood Bonds” option in the Equipment Animation side panel did not redirect players to the Steam Store.
- Fixed an issue where newly created Newsfeed entries were not reliably displayed.

- Fixed an issue on PlayStation and Xbox where external links associated with promotions did not work correctly.
- Fixed an issue on PlayStation where images could take an extended amount of time to load on the frontend.
- Fixed an issue on PlayStation and Xbox that prevented players from assigning a Quick Slot button to the currently selected equipment item.
