The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt reached a peak of 137,724 concurrent players on Steam on October 4, setting a new record. SteamDB’s player chart lists the previous record as 103,329, set in January 2020 after the Netflix series debuted. The new figure also surpasses the roughly 92,000 players recorded around the RPG’s 2015 launch and earlier peaks associated with the December 2022 next-gen update.
Players passed 120,000 concurrent users within hours of the remaster’s September 29 launch, before setting the new high over the weekend. The release brought refreshed visuals and updates to combat and progression, giving returning players a new version of Geralt’s adventure to revisit.
CD Projekt Red associate game director Paweł Sasko thanked players returning to the Witcher games after the surge, writing, “There is plenty of you on the path this weekend, my dears witchers. Much love and gratitude for playing our games.”

The remaster’s launch and the latest peak arrived close together, but the concurrent-player count does not establish what brought each person back. It does show that the 2015 RPG has now drawn more simultaneous Steam players than during its original launch or the earlier surges tied to the Netflix series and next-gen update.
