WoW Midnight’s October 6 Class Tuning Will Cut Unholy Blightfall Damage and Buff 5 Specs
The balance pass is scheduled for weekly maintenance ahead of patch 12.1.5's October 13 North American and October 14 European release.

Blizzard’s next World of Warcraft: Midnight class-tuning pass is scheduled for weekly maintenance on Tuesday, October 6, and it will pair an Unholy Death Knight damage cut with PvE buffs for five specs. Blightfall will deal 100% of its remaining plague damage, down from 200%, while Devourer Demon Hunters, Brewmaster and Mistweaver Monks, Subtlety Rogues, and Enhancement Shamans receive adjustments.
The Blightfall tuning is distinct from the September 23 Blightfall bug fix, which corrected damage that declined as more time passed after the plague was applied.
Devourer Demon Hunters will get several single-target increases. Consume/Devour and Reap/Cull damage will rise by 8%, as will the primary-target damage from Eradicate and Collapsing Star. The initial damage from The Hunt and Voidblade damage will each increase by 10%. None of these adjustments will apply in PvP.
Brewmaster Monks will gain more baseline durability. Quick Sip’s purification will rise from 5% to 8% of current Stagger when the effect gains three seconds of duration, while Pretense of Instability’s 10% dodge bonus after drinking a Brew will last eight seconds instead of five. Mistweaver healing from Invigorating Mists and Enveloping Mist will increase by 15%, though the Enveloping Mist change applies only in PvE.
Subtlety Rogues will see changes to the Trickster hero talent. Fazed’s damage bonus will rise from 5% to 7%, Unseen Blade will deal 15% more damage, and Coupe de Grace will deal 10% more. Those changes will not apply in PvP. Enhancement Shamans will receive a 4% increase to all ability and auto-attack damage in PvE, with Lava Lash getting a separate 35% damage increase there.
How to unlock the extra Nebulous Voidcore
The October 6 update also adds a weekly Voidforge turn-in for one extra Nebulous Voidcore. Alongside the Great Vault bonus-roll option, it will give players a way to obtain up to two coins per week. Each boss remains limited to one bonus roll per week per difficulty.
To unlock the Voidforge reward, complete In the Catalyst’s Shadow, offered by Decimus in the Voidstorm, and Prismatic Potential, offered by Orin Straylight beside the Catalyst in Silvermoon. Both quests have been available since Season 2 began, so some players may already have finished them. Elementary Voidcore Shards for Prismatic Potential can come from Venomous Abyss bosses at any difficulty, Mythic+ dungeons, Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunts.
After completing both quests, players can visit Orin Straylight in Silvermoon and choose one of three weekly payments for the extra Nebulous Voidcore: 5,000 Gold, 80 Veteran Dawncrest, or 2,000 Voidlight Marl.
Blizzard’s separate PvP tuning notes also call out buffs to underperforming PvP talents, particularly tank-specialization talents that apply Focused Assault. Starting with the October 6 update, Orin Straylight will also offer one extra weekly Nebulous Voidcore for bonus rolls.
The tuning arrives ahead of patch 12.1.5, scheduled for October 13 in North America and October 14 in Europe. The update will bring a single-boss raid against Kith’ix, Labyrinths, and zone-wide Aqir Invasions, as described in Blizzard’s 12.1.5 content notes.
