Road to Vostok Hotfix 0.2.0.5 Rebalances AI Fights and Fixes Shelter Saves

The hotfix improves directional audio, raises the Police Van's chance of carrying Punisher, and preserves saves from version 0.2.0.3.

Road to Vostok’s Hotfix 0.2.0.5 targets AI-versus-AI balance, clearer directional audio, and bugs that could damage saves or kill players during transitions. Developer Antti Leinonen said the previous AI adjustment went too far, and after several hours with this version, he felt the encounters were closer to a sweet spot, according to the Steam announcement for Hotfix 0.2.0.5.

Nomad spawn randomization gets a small further increase as part of the rebalancing. The previous hotfix, version 0.2.0.3, had already added randomization intended to make Nomads appear less often. Version 0.2.0.5 also gives AI voices, footsteps, and weapon sounds more direct stereo panning, helping players place those sounds by direction.

Several changes address the moving Driver bus. It now stops for two minutes before continuing after a nearby player leaves, and a door collider prevents players from jumping into it while it is moving. The hotfix also fixes an overly loud bus engine, routes that had no stops, and collisions where the Driver or Police Van could pass through truck trailers.

Saves from 0.2.0.3 remain compatible with 0.2.0.5, as do mods converted for 0.2.0.0. The developer described this as one more hotfix before two main content patches for Build 2. The full change list follows.
