Crimson Desert’s PC mod Seasons of Pywel gives the game a changing calendar, with Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter affecting the world’s appearance, temperature, and weather. Created by Khione95, the mod also introduces snow that gradually accumulates across Pywel and provides controls for setting how the seasons work.
Spring brings greener trees and grass, while Autumn adds golden, orange, and brown tones to vegetation and terrain. Summer largely keeps the game’s usual look. Winter covers the world with snow, frost, and ice, and brings much colder temperatures, including freezing nights. Fires can still warm the player, and the desert remains warm even in Winter.
Seasonal weather adds another layer to the changes. Winter can bring snow, Spring and Autumn can bring more rain, and Summer stays mostly dry. Rain and snow may continue for several in-game hours, with clouds gathering as poor weather approaches. Since weather follows the game clock, sleeping and waiting can move it forward.
Winter snow can build up over time, with heavy snowfall reaching full depth faster than light snowfall. Deep snow spreads from colder areas toward warmer regions, where it can push temperatures lower. It remains on the ground for a while after snowfall ends before beginning to melt. Players can disable deep snow in the Control Menu without turning off regular Winter snow, cold weather, or snowfall.
Season settings go beyond the calendar
Opened with F5, the Control Menu lets players follow the game calendar or lock Pywel to a single season. Season lengths range from 3 to 90 in-game days, with options for 7, 14, 30, 45, 60, and 90 days. The menu also displays the current day, season, weather, weather duration, and snow depth. Its key can be changed in the mod’s settings file.
A separate testing menu lets players set clear weather, rain, or snow, adjust the temperature and snow depth, and move the calendar to the start of a new season. Those controls are designed to make it easier to create specific conditions for screenshots and videos.
The latest version, 1.0.2, saves snow depth according to the in-game day and time, then restores it when a save is loaded. Loading a save no longer counts as sleep, deep snow no longer causes extreme winds, and Winter temperatures have been adjusted so cold areas do not become deadly without reason. The mod is available on Nexus Mods.
Seasons of Pywel joins other community projects that alter how players move through Pywel, including Crimson Route’s road-based navigation.
