After severe weather in greater Boston postponed the original event, Pokémon GO City Safari in Boston will take place October 24 and 25, 2026, primarily as a global event for current ticket holders, according to the official rescheduling notice. The original September 26-27 schedule called for a two-day event across nine Boston zones with a GO Stamp Rally, but the revised gameplay will not include the rally.
The wild encounters and event bonuses planned for Boston will instead run worldwide from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in each player’s local time zone on both dates. The event remains ticket-gated, so only current ticket holders can access any of its components.
The Special Research originally tied to explorer-hat Eevee is being replaced by Timed Research with encounters for Flabébé (Orange Flower), Hawlucha, Mudbray, and Komala, along with branching weekend bonuses.
Ticket holders will also receive separate Special Research with tasks to spin PokéStops in Boston. It can award up to 9 encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat and a Boston Location Background, with one research opportunity for each ticketed day. Trainers can log in anywhere in the world to obtain the research from October 24, 2026, through October 23, 2028, though the tasks require Boston PokéStops.
Refunds must be requested by October 20
No action is needed to keep a ticket. Anyone requesting a refund must contact in-app support before October 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Only the ticket purchaser can submit the request, and partial refunds are unavailable, including for gifted tickets and add-ons.
If a purchaser requests a refund for an order with multiple tickets, every ticket in that order will be refunded, along with any add-ons purchased for the group. Refunded ticket holders will lose access to the rescheduled event, and they cannot buy tickets again after a refund is processed. No additional tickets will be released.
