Pokémon GO’s ESA event is live at Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia, bringing themed wild encounters, special research rewards, and confetti over the play area. The event was active by midnight at the venue.

Elgyem, Pikachu, Magnemite, Starmie, Clefairy, Solrock, and Lunatone are appearing as themed wild spawns around the area. These wild Pokémon do not have event backgrounds, so Trainers looking for one will need to complete an ESA task instead.
Each of the three tasks awards a themed encounter with a guaranteed background: spin 10 PokéStops, earn 3 hearts with a buddy, or catch 10 Pokémon. About three-quarters of nearby PokéStops had an ESA task, though not every stop offered one.
Two Timed Research tracks are also available. One lasts 9 days, while the other lasts 218 days. The catch screen has an event theme, including for encounters with Team GO Rocket Grunts, and confetti appears above the play area.
