Counter-Strike 2 Update Details Static Quadrant Crosshair and Share Code Changes

The notes also add grenade crosshairs during freeze time and include scope-dot preferences in crosshair share codes.

Counter-Strike 2’s latest update notes center on crosshair changes, including a new Static Quadrant style, an outline color option, and revised behavior for dynamic crosshairs. They also list a fix for weapon inaccuracy and spread visualization, plus grenade crosshairs during freeze time for insta-smokes. The September 23 update had already introduced pixel-based crosshair sizing and a static square style in the September 23 crosshair update.

The changes cover both appearance and customization. The classic dynamic crosshair now allows negative gaps, and its alpha increments have changed to 0.01. Scope-dot scale and color preferences are also included in crosshair share codes, whose format has changed to accommodate those settings. Valve lists the details in its Counter-Strike 2 Steam update.

For insta-smokes, players can hold any grenade attack button to use grenade crosshairs during freeze time. The update also includes various clipping fixes in Rush maps. A September 28 Rush update had already fixed pixel gaps in various rooms and adjusted clipping in the T/CT Castle rooms.

Counter-Strike 2

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Valve. Released in September 2023, it is the fifth main entry in the Counter-Strike series and serves as a direct replacement for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, compete in objective-based rounds across modes such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue. Built on the Source 2 engine, the game introduced volumetric smoke physics, revised weapon handling, and a new sub-tick server architecture. It inherited all cosmetic items from its predecessor and features both a map-specific Competitive mode and a numerically ranked Premier mode.
