Deadlock’s Latest Update Added 800 Pre-Match Conversations

Deadlock‘s latest major update added about 800 pre-match conversations, giving its growing cast many more chances to show off their personalities before a match. Valve’s official Deadlock site puts the total at 1,500, up from more than 700.
The release also meets Valve’s late-September target for its next major update. Alongside five new heroes, it added an in-game voice-line viewer and more than 10,000 non-ping voice lines.
Some of the new exchanges are playful, with Celeste trying to talk Drifter out of killing her and Rem making a startling request about Calico’s cat. Others bring the characters’ history into the conversation, as Mina and Pocket revisit their relationship and Doorman stands his ground when Drifter threatens the Baroness.
