More information about Conan Exiles Enhanced on consoles will be revealed in October, Funcom said, after Xbox official and private servers dealt with crashes that have since been fixed. The announcement gave no console release date, but it made October the next point for news about the UE5 version in Funcom’s September community update on Steam.
Xbox crashes were traced to legacy middleware
At the start of September, some official and private Xbox servers began crashing because of legacy middleware used in the Microsoft platform versions of the game. Funcom disabled the middleware and pushed out a client fix after the required Xbox certification process was completed.
Those crashes have been resolved, but the fix did not include a launch date for Conan Exiles Enhanced on consoles. Funcom asked players to wait a little longer and said more information would arrive in October.
Update 2.2.0 brings a mod compatibility cost
Update 2.2.0 is already live with Unreal Engine 5.8.2 and Iris networking. Funcom said early results showed dedicated servers experiencing roughly half the lag seen before Iris was enabled. The system replaced the old UE4 networking layer and is designed to keep server performance steadier as more players join.
The engine upgrade also forced every mod to be recooked because of serialization changes in the base engine. Until authors update their projects, affected mods can appear as out of date. Funcom said modders were warned about the change beforehand and were already working on their recooks.
Public Beta testers will receive a Golden Pickaxe
Players who participated in the 2.2.0 Public Beta will receive a Golden Pickaxe soon. Funcom is collecting player IDs for the reward, which will be delivered directly in the live version and appear in the recipients’ ancestral knowledge.
Public Beta Client servers are currently offline. They will return when the next update is ready for testing, giving players another chance to help find problems before a future release reaches the live game.
Part Two remains scheduled for October 6
October will also bring The Legacy of the Giant-Kings: Part Two on October 6. The next chapter in the four-part story arc will send players toward mysterious rifts across the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah.
Community creations received attention as well. Funcom confirmed that voting for the first modding contest’s Top 10 had finished, following the announcement of the contest winners. The update also highlighted Ardenaso and Tephra’s Map of the Siptah Figurines, along with new builds and videos from other creators.
