WARDOGS’ Launch Stability Hotfix #1 Forces Restarts Before Controlled Server Reentry

The client update targets failed server joins, unexpected kicks, and extended login queues as players are admitted in controlled batches.

WARDOGS has released Launch Stability Hotfix #1 to address the roughest problems from its Early Access launch, including failed server connections, unexpected kicks, and long login queues. The update will force currently logged-in players to restart before BULKHEAD brings them back through the queue in controlled batches. Before the hotfix, BULKHEAD had already listed performance, crash, voice-chat, and server-browser fixes in BULKHEAD’s Season 1 launch notes.

The rollout is designed to give the team a cleaner way to monitor players entering matches. As servers fill successfully, BULKHEAD will increase the number of players allowed through. The full sequence is outlined in the game’s Steam announcement.

Players already in WARDOGS should expect to be removed from the game, download the client update, and rejoin the login queue after relaunching. That may mean another wait before reaching a server, but the staged rollout gives BULKHEAD a way to watch whether the hotfix is correcting the launch-day failures instead of opening the floodgates all at once.

WARDOGS Launch Stability Hotfix #1

The update process and the issues it targets are detailed below.

  1. All currently logged-in players will be forced to close WARDOGS and restart the game.

  2. You will then be prompted to download the latest client update.

  3. Once the update has been installed and you relaunch the game, all players will return to the login queue.

  4. We will then begin allowing players into the game in controlled batches.

  5. As we confirm that players are successfully entering and populating servers, we will gradually increase the number of players being let through.

This client hotfix is intended to address several of the issues we have been seeing, including:

  • Players unable to join servers.

  • Players being unexpectedly kicked from servers during play.

  • Extended login queue times.

BULKHEAD said it would actively monitor the situation after the hotfix and work through the night toward a resolution. Will the controlled rollout get WARDOGS’ servers on firmer footing? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, Telegram.
