BrokenLore: Don’t Lie Is Now Available on Xbox Series X|S and PC With Junko’s Story at the Center

Serafini Productions' psychological horror game follows Junko as trauma, isolation, and unreliable memories reshape her surroundings.

BrokenLore: Don’t Lie is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, introducing Junko, a young woman whose isolation has made the boundary between memory and reality increasingly unstable. Serafini Productions uses her story to examine trauma, social withdrawal, and the ways people seek connection.

In an Xbox Wire feature, Serafini Productions CEO and founder Sebastiano Serafini described Don’t Lie as a standalone chapter in the wider BrokenLore universe. The Xbox version is available through the Xbox store listing, alongside the PC release.

Junko’s reality begins to break apart

Junko is a hikikomori, a person who has withdrawn from social life for psychological or social reasons. Her story takes place across her apartment and distorted spaces shaped by her past, where messages, files, and environmental clues gradually reveal what she has been trying to suppress.

As Junko’s memories begin to interfere with her perception of the present, familiar locations become reflections of painful experiences. Players must investigate those spaces, stay out of sight as an unseen presence tracks their behavior, and piece together Junko’s history before her sense of self gives way.

Don’t Lie expands the story introduced in Don’t Watch

Don’t Lie also connects to BrokenLore: Don’t Watch through its characters. Junko and Don’t Watch protagonist Shinji met at a rehabilitation center in 2020 while receiving treatment for different psychiatric disorders. Both eventually became hikikomori, with the earlier game focusing on Shinji and the new release turning to Junko’s experience.

People standing beneath a Recovery Center sign

Each game can be played as its own story, while details across the series gradually connect the characters and their experiences. Horror provides the setting for those links, but the underlying subjects remain grounded in isolation, trauma, and difficult attempts to reconnect with other people.

AI companionship becomes another BrokenLore theme

Serafini Productions is also examining people’s relationships with AI companions. The growing use of AI tools for personal advice and private conversations helped inspire Miki-chan, a character connected to that theme in Don’t Lie.

The studio says it wants to tell more stories within the BrokenLore universe, with Wired Productions and Shochiku supporting that broader direction. For now, BrokenLore: Don’t Lie stands as the series’ latest chapter and gives Xbox and PC players a new perspective on its fractured world.
