WARDOGS Will Reach PS5 and Xbox in 2028 as PC Early Access Starts September 10

WARDOGS will reach PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2028, giving BULKHEAD’s large-scale FPS its first announced console window. The game will start Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026, at 4 PM UTC, and console wishlists will open that day.

BULKHEAD had previously confirmed its console plans without naming a release year. The new 2028 target puts a clearer endpoint on that wait, although no more precise release date has been announced.

Current-generation hardware is the limit for the console release. WARDOGS will not launch on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and BULKHEAD has not announced whether the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will support crossplay.

BULKHEAD revealed the console plan at the end of its “Play Like You Used To” trailer, which takes inspiration from Halo 3’s “Believe” trailer. The announcement gives the console versions a platform target without pretending that a full launch schedule exists yet.

On PC, WARDOGS puts 100 players across three rival teams in a fight for a control zone across three maps. Vehicles, construction, and destruction shape the battles, while teamplay actions reward cash that persists from match to match. Players can spend that money on custom loadouts, adding an economic layer to each deployment.

BULKHEAD said WARDOGS had sold one million copies on PC at Early Access launch. PC players can enter Early Access for $39.99, with a gradual price increase planned as updates roll out and the game moves toward version 1.0. BULKHEAD also plans to keep microtransactions out of the game during Early Access.

BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer called WARDOGS “ambitious, rough around the edges, and still has a long way to go.” He said the team will use player feedback and take risks as it works toward a shooter that can last.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can wishlist the game while waiting for the exact console date. Details such as crossplay and how the large-scale shooter will perform on consoles remain unanswered.
