PAYDAY 2 Update 247.3 Targets Inventory Cleanup and Weapon Bugs

PAYDAY 2 Update 247.3 focuses on inventory protection and a collection of weapon, menu, and heist fixes. The biggest change addresses modded weapon charms that can disappear and previously risked removing an entire weapon from a player’s inventory.

The developers are still investigating performance issues connected to the v3 engine update. The official Steam changelog also lists a 16 GB download for this build because it is the first one created with the new build automation system. Future patches are expected to be much smaller.

Alongside the inventory safeguard, the update corrects several weapon stat problems and cleans up visual and collision issues across the main menu and heists.

Weapons

• Added a special cleanup case for weapons to prevent modded charms from erasing the entire weapon if the charm stops existing – better late than never!

  • Note: Because of the limited information present in saves charms have the ID prefix wpn_fps_upg_charm_ and only modded charms that follow that naming scheme will clean up in this way, thankfully that is most weapon charm mods!

• Fixed the “Aran G2” sniper rifle mistakenly not using skill based damage bonuses

• Fixed some akimbo variants of some guns not using their respective stat boost mods

• Fixed Kross Vertex SMG default sling mount vanishing

Main Menu

• Fixed some graphical errors in the main menu background

Heists

Hotline Miami

• Fixed meth cooking instructions being blurry when playing on lower texture quality

The Safehouse

• Fixed shadow when the roulette table is not present in Bonnie’s corner

• Fixed more misc props having arbitrary lower texture quality

Beneath The Mountain

• Fixed team Ai getting stuck above the elevator shaft if a peer leaves the lobby there

Art Gallery

• Fixed several bag stuck spots around the rooftop windows

• Fixed the left side door not being openable ;)

Mod compatibility and file checks

The developers warn that installed mods may be incompatible with the update, including mods that appear unrelated to the reported problem. Removing all mods and trying again is recommended when issues occur.

For problems in an unmodded game, players can verify the installation files by right-clicking PAYDAY 2 in the Steam library, choosing “Properties,” opening “LOCAL FILES,” and selecting “VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES…” The process may take some time.
