Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Volvo FH Series 6 will gain SCS Software’s Improved Material System when the upcoming 1.61 update arrives. The studio announced the expansion in a Steam announcement, but it has not provided a release date for the update.
The feature will reach 3 additional trucks across SCS Software’s 2 truck-driving games. Euro Truck Simulator 2 will add the Volvo FH Series 6, while American Truck Simulator will receive support for the International LT and International LoneStar.
The Improved Material System focuses on how different cabin materials react to light. Leather, fabric, plastic, and metal will be easier to distinguish, particularly in low-light conditions. SCS Software says the change will make vehicle interiors more detailed and easier to read while driving.
The system first arrived in Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the 1.60 update for the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX. American Truck Simulator received it for the Mack Anthem and Western Star 49X. The 1.61 update will continue that work by adding another ETS2 truck and 2 more vehicles to ATS.
More trucks will follow
SCS Software says the feature will continue reaching more trucks beyond this 1.61 batch. Its Under the Hood blog also details the process behind bringing the system to new vehicles and the work done by the colleagues developing it.
