Sea Power Targets October for Its Falklands Campaign as Core Updates Near

The game is currently part of the MicroProse Publisher Sale, while Triassic Games plans a GamesCom appearance from August 26-28 and a Public Beta for the week of August 31.

Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age is lining up an October 2026 release target for its Great Britain and Argentina factions, along with the South Atlantic 1982 campaign. Before that content arrives, Triassic Games is preparing a round of command tools, weapon-preview improvements, and new naval units for testing.

Triassic Games shared the roadmap in a Steam announcement. The developer also confirmed that the game is currently on sale as part of the MicroProse Publisher Sale.

GamesCom is next on the calendar. Triassic Games will be in Germany from Wednesday, August 26, through Friday, August 28, meeting fellow developers, partners, and members of the wider simulation community.

Great Britain and Argentina are planned for October

Work continues on the Great Britain and Argentina factions, with the South Atlantic 1982 campaign being built alongside them. The release package will also include additional units, voiceovers, and scenarios, giving the Falklands setting its own connected content rather than treating the factions as isolated additions.

Triassic Games said the scope of the package has grown while the new factions, units, audio, scenarios, and campaign are developed together. The current release target is October 2026, with a more detailed update planned once the project moves into final testing.

Formation tools and weapon previews are coming first

Between now and the Falklands release, the core updates will focus on making forces easier to command, capabilities easier to understand, and attacks easier to plan. The planned changes include:

  • Formation Manager: Unit-category tabs, formation renaming, and simpler reordering for formations and units.
  • Weapon-aiming previews: Clearer visual feedback for weapon range, seeker acquisition areas, search patterns, and wake-homing torpedo attacks before launch.
  • Unit Reference/Encyclopedia: More information about unit characteristics, sensors, weapons, loadouts, submarine noise and quieting, and Task Force Mode cost breakdowns.
  • Further fixes and refinements: Work across saved missions, Task Force Mode stores and pricing, sonar behavior, map settings, weapon systems, and scenario tools.

More units are also on the way, including additions for the JMSDF, U.S. Navy, and Soviet forces. Triassic Games said several of these units have already appeared in recent previews.

The roadmap follows the 0.8.2 update from July 20, which added Deployment Zones and Unrestricted Mode to Task Force Mode alongside campaign tools, aerial refueling, weapon reporting, and balance changes.

These core improvements are planned to enter Public Beta during the week of August 31, before moving to the public release branch later in September. The Falklands package will follow that testing period if the October target holds.
