Ananta is scheduled to launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, as a PS5 console exclusive, with versions also planned for PC and mobile. The date was confirmed at the end of a new trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live. If accurate, the release will land about 8 weeks after GTA VI’s November 19, 2026 launch.
The Gamescom trailer featured music from The Cranberries, introduced a new Chinese sandbox city, and offered an extended look at what players can do in NetEase’s anime-inspired, free-to-play open-world action game. Colorful cel-shaded character designs, fast-paced action, and a playful sense of humor remained central to the footage.
Promotional material also points to a global launch with pre-registration rewards.

The project is separate from NTE: Neverness to Everness, another anime-inspired open-world title that is already available. Ananta is planned for PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile platforms, giving players across several systems a chance to try it when the global launch arrives.
What Ananta brings to its open world
NetEase’s game is built around a large urban setting and more than traversal. Its open world includes web-swinging reminiscent of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, along with sandbox activities such as soccer and arcade games.
The trailer also wrapped its action around several pop-culture jokes. One sequence recreated Leonardo DiCaprio’s champagne toast from The Great Gatsby, while another nodded to Goku’s face-down crater defeat from Dragon Ball.
Ananta will not use character gacha; players will instead unlock cosmetic items for the cast. With the January 15 date now confirmed during Gamescom Opening Night Live, the wait for NetEase’s open-world adventure has a clearer endpoint.
