Sunkenland Update v0.8.55 Adds Ship Targeting Rules and Fixes Multiplayer Crafting

The patch also improves network and scene loading, fixes water construction in Military Port, and addresses Radio Island lock-ins.

Sunkenland Update v0.8.55 focuses on multiplayer stability and ship combat. Network connections and scene loading were optimized to reduce timeout issues between hosts and clients, while ship-mounted weapons received new targeting rules based on distance, nighttime conditions, and focus-fire priorities.

The update also cleans up several progression and building problems. Crafting multiple item types at a Stove or Ammunition Bench should no longer cause most completed items to disappear after a save and reload, and weapon-crafting achievements now track progress for multiplayer players beyond just the host.

Construction inside the captured Military Port received a fix as well, allowing players to build structures on the water again. Other fixes cover buildings losing health without warning, the Character Save Recovery interface, and players becoming trapped inside certain buildings on Radio Island. The official Steam announcement contains the complete changelog.

Version 0.8.55 follows Sunkenland Hotfix v0.8.52, which addressed an error that could prevent a world from loading correctly.

Sunkenland Update v0.8.55 Patch Notes

The largest changes affect network reliability and ship-mounted weapons. Multiplayer sessions should see fewer timeout problems during connections and scene loading, while ship weapons now use more detailed target-selection rules. The remaining fixes cover crafting, achievements, construction, building health, save recovery, and Radio Island.

Improvements and Optimizations

  • Optimized network connections and scene loading to reduce timeout issues between hosts and clients.
  • Improved ship AI behavior.
  • Enhanced ship-mounted weapon systems with new targeting mechanics, including distance weighting, nighttime weighting, focus-fire weighting, and a target-loss rule when targets are submerged beyond 8 meters, giving players greater tactical control.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where, after crafting multiple types of items for the first time at a Stove or Ammunition Bench, saving and reloading could result in only the first item type being available to collect once crafting was complete.
  • Fixed an issue where weapon-crafting achievement progress only counted for the host in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an issue where Fish Traps, Shipyards, and other structures could not be built on the water within the Military Port after it had been captured.
  • Fixed an issue where buildings could occasionally lose health unexpectedly.
  • Fixed several issues with the Character Save Recovery interface.
  • Fixed an issue where players could become stuck inside buildings in certain areas of Radio Island.
