How to Target 400-Quality Transcendent Weapons in The First Descendant
Trials and Onslaught offer repeatable farming routes, while Karel's Mothership has the highest listed drop chance at the cost of a longer run.

Transcendent Weapons are one of the main endgame grinds in The First Descendant, alongside Ancestor Modules. Their low drop rates, random abilities, and Quality values can make finding the right weapon feel like a long project, but some activities are much better suited to the job than others.
If you are chasing the best possible rolls, prioritize activities that can drop weapons up to Quality 400. Karel’s Mothership has the highest listed chance at 14.5 percent, while Trials, Onslaught, and several high-end dungeons provide better options for repeated runs. Season 4 added these newer activities alongside its weapon system, as covered in our Season 4 overview.
The best activities for farming Transcendent Weapons
Transcendent Weapons can drop from almost any activity, including Sigma Sector and Infiltration Operations. Those activities have lower maximum Quality caps, though, so they are not ideal if your goal is a Quality 400 weapon.
The strongest farming choices are the activities below. The listed drop rate applies to a Transcendent Weapon appearing in the relevant reward pool.
| Activity | Quality range | Drop rate |
|---|---|---|
| Forbidden Sanctuary | 251–400 | 5.64% |
| Bastion of Immortality | 251–400 | 5.06% |
| Legion Laboratory | 251–400 | 4.78% |
| Exposed Underwater Base | 251–400 | 4.69% |
| Supermassive Receptor | 251–400 | 4.64% |
| Medium-Sized Facility Zone – Hard | 251–400 | 4.92% |
| Onslaught – Stage 1 | 261–400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 2 | 271–400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 3 | 281–400 | 7.11% |
| Onslaught – Stage 4 | 291–400 | 7.11% |
| Karel’s Mothership – Normal | 251–400 | 14.5% |
| Karel’s Mothership – Hard | 271–400 | 14.5% |
| Trials – First round | 271–400 | 10% |
| Trials – Second round | 271–400 | 10% |
| Trials – Third round | 281–400 | 10% |
| Trials – Fourth round | 281–400 | 10% |
Karel’s Mothership has the best raw chance, but it is also the longest activity in the group. A sensible routine is to clear it once per week for Merit Tokens, then spend the rest of your farming time in Trials, Onslaught, or a dungeon that also helps you work toward another Descendant or weapon.
Trials offer a 10 percent chance in every round, with later rounds raising the lowest possible Quality. Onslaught keeps the same 7.11 percent rate across all four stages, while the minimum Quality rises from 261 in Stage 1 to 291 in Stage 4.
Other Transcendent Weapon sources
Many lower-tier dungeons also award Transcendent Weapons. They can be useful when you are already farming another material or building a particular Descendant. Breach Tracking, Bounty Operations, and most Void Vessel dungeons are the main exceptions.

There is also a small chance for a monster to drop a Transcendent Weapon above the normal Quality range for its activity. Treat those as bonus jackpot drops rather than a farming method you can plan around.
What to do with unwanted Transcendent Weapons
When a weapon has poor ability rolls or Sub Ability stats, dismantling it still helps. Dismantled Transcendent Weapons provide Transcendent Trait Elements, which can be exchanged at Deslin for reroll materials or additional Transcendent Weapons.
When checking a drop, focus on its Transcendent Ability point distribution and Sub Ability stats. A low-Quality weapon can still be worth upgrading with Crystallization Catalysts and Energy Activators because those investments transfer to every copy of that weapon.
You can reroll both the Transcendent Ability point distribution and the Sub Ability rolls at the Weapons Workbench. That gives weaker drops a possible second life instead of sending every imperfect weapon straight to dismantling.
Trials are the cleanest repeatable choice for many players, while Onslaught keeps its drop rate steady through all four stages. If you need Merit Tokens, make room for the weekly Karel’s Mothership run; otherwise, choose the activity that also advances your current Descendant or weapon project.
