Patch Notes

Where Winds Meet’s Version 2.1 Notes Cover Homestead Tweaks and 11 Bug Fixes

The August 20 maintenance window was scheduled for 5:00 to 10:00 (UTC+8), with a major Vernal Umbrella affix adjustment for Tier 96-and-higher gear.

Where Winds Meet Version 2.1 covers a focused batch of quality-of-life changes, combat adjustments, and bug fixes. Build Mode is getting smoother camera controls, Homestead dispatch information is becoming easier to read, and several Vernal Umbrella affixes are being reorganized for high-tier gear.

The developer scheduled a non-disruptive maintenance update for August 20, 2026, from 5:00 to 10:00 (UTC+8). Players could still log in and play during the window, although some features and modes might be temporarily unavailable. The maintenance could also begin earlier or finish later than planned, according to the Steam announcement.

Version 2.1 follows the broader Version 2.0 changes, but its focus is much narrower. The patch notes spend most of their time on smoother building controls, clearer Homestead management, Vernal Umbrella gear tuning, and a cleanup pass across quests, skills, rewards, and arena interactions.

Where Winds Meet Version 2.1 Patch Notes

The largest adjustments affect players who build in Homestead, use controllers, or rely on high-tier Vernal Umbrella equipment. The update also addresses three Celestial Echo and event-reward display or usability problems, followed by 11 additional bug fixes.

August 20, 2026 Fixes and Optimizations

  1. Fixed a visual issue where [Bliss Points] in [Draw: Celestial Echo] were displayed incorrectly. This was a display bug only and did not affect your actual accumulated progress. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
  2. Fixed a display error where buff food and buff scrolls were shown incorrectly in the Rare Rewards preview of [Draw – Celestial Echo]. The actual draw results and rewards received were unaffected.
  3. Fixed an issue where the [Heaven’s Plea] makeup, obtained from the [Sweetened Summer] event, could not be used after acquisition.

The maintenance update was described as non-disruptive, so logins and gameplay remained available during the scheduled window. Some features and modes could still be temporarily unavailable while the work was underway.

Optimizations

  1. Improved camera controls in Build Mode. The Free Camera and Bird’s-Eye Camera now support two-finger pinch-to-zoom on touchscreens, as well as scroll-wheel zoom with a mouse.
  2. Improved controller support in Build Mode. The LB / RB buttons can now be held down for continuous camera adjustment and building rotation.
  3. Improved the Retainer dispatch candidate list in the Homestead. Retainer status is now easier to read, making dispatch choices clearer at a glance.
  4. We have adjusted the Attunement effects of the Vernal Umbrella Martial Art. On Tier 96 and higher gear, the Attunement affixes [Vernal Umbrella: Special Skill DMG Boost] and [Vernal Umbrella: Charged Skill DMG Boost] will be merged into a single affix, [Vernal Umbrella: Frequent Projectile DMG Boost]. This merged affix applies to both the Special Skill [Unfading Flower] and the Light Charged Skill [Spring Away], giving you greater freedom in skill selection and reducing the cost of building multiple strategies. After the merge, a new Attunement affix will be added: [Vernal Umbrella: Light/Heavy Attack & Varied Combo DMG Boost]. When Tier 91 gear inherits Attunement, both the original [Vernal Umbrella: Special Skill DMG Boost] and [Vernal Umbrella: Charged Skill DMG Boost] will carry over as [Vernal Umbrella: Frequent Projectile DMG Boost]. On Tier 96 and higher gear that has already been Attuned, these affixes will also be automatically updated to [Vernal Umbrella: Frequent Projectile DMG Boost]. This adjustment applies to the Attunement affix library for Tier 96 and higher Silkbind Jade. Note that only the Tier 96 Silkbind Jade affix library will display two [Vernal Umbrella: Frequent Projectile DMG Boost] affixes at the same time, and this does not affect the random appearance rate of affixes.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed an issue where the [Guardian Palm] Mystic Skill stuttered during its cast animation at Rank 3.
  2. Fixed an issue where the [Food Enhancement] basic talent only applied to a single buff.
  3. Fixed an issue where some characters got up too slowly after being knocked down, preventing them from rolling.
  4. Fixed an issue where the [Deserved Pack] accessory disappeared after being claimed.
  5. Fixed an issue where [A Flourishing Legacy] Jianghu Legacy could be completed in co-op.
  6. Fixed an issue where some Wanderers could not obtain the quest item for the [A Flourishing Legacy] Jianghu Legacy under certain conditions.
  7. Fixed an issue where some Wanderers could not trigger the [Rising Beyond] Exploration Quest after completing the [A Flourishing Legacy] Jianghu Legacy.
  8. Fixed an issue where the afterimage effects of the [Ghostly Steps – Umbra] Mystic Skill and its [Jackdaw Shadows] effect went missing on a perfect dodge.
  9. Fixed an issue where using the [Strategic Sword] Martial Art could cause a random blink when canceling after charging a heavy attack.
  10. Fixed an issue where the phantom umbrella from the [Everspring Umbrella] Martial Art skill could appear in the wrong position when used near the edge of the arena.
  11. Fixed an issue where some Wanderers were automatically switched to a different difficulty after entering the [Legend] mode.
