CYBERLEEK Warns Rockstar and Other Publishers of More Disruptions After GTA 6 Leaks

The person or group behind the name says publishers must apologize for certain monetization practices or face continued disruptions.

Fresh Grand Theft Auto VI leaks surfaced on August 18, and the person or group calling itself CYBERLEEK warned Rockstar Games and other major publishers that more disruptions may follow. The identity behind the name has not been confirmed.

The incident echoes the earlier Rockstar breach that exposed a large amount of GTA 6 material, but the latest leak quickly came with an alleged motive. An alleged video of Jason playing basketball in the game appeared online, followed by more videos and reports involving a possible honor system and the full map.

An X post from Cameron identified CYBERLEEK and shared the message connected to the leaks. The statement presented three rules for publishers:

  • Digital pre-orders should not be sold.
  • Publishers should not sell single-player DLC made from content already contained in the game’s data.
  • Single-player games should have offline fallback states.

CYBERLEEK described those rules as a response to repeated monetization practices across the games industry. The manifesto pointed to Ubisoft’s The Crew as a preservation example. After the racing game’s servers shut down, players lost access to its single-player mode, which CYBERLEEK used to support its call for offline fallback states.

Beyond those three rules, the manifesto accused publishers of presenting licenses as purchases, releasing unfinished games under live-service labels, and keeping customers’ money after shutting games down. The message also demanded more than a quiet response. It called for a public apology, a concrete commitment to correct the alleged harm, and restitution.

CYBERLEEK also said it was raising money for a secret project through a meme coin on Solana. The manifesto said those funds would support the infrastructure needed for its operations and security intended to withstand corporate countermeasures. The group said it was withholding the project’s details so large corporations could not prepare for its plans.

Map images connected to the apparent leak also included a call to purchase the coin, tying the alleged GTA 6 material directly to the fundraising campaign. CYBERLEEK denied that the coin sale was simply a way to make money, but the project’s purpose remains undisclosed.

Rockstar and Take-Two are named in the warning

Rockstar appears to be an early target because of Grand Theft Auto VI digital pre-orders and content locked behind the game’s Ultimate Edition, according to the statement. The manifesto also specifically named Take-Two Interactive as a target. CYBERLEEK said publishers would continue to face disruptions until they publicly acknowledged those complaints and committed to changing course.

The warning was not limited to Rockstar. CYBERLEEK described its three rules as a minimum standard and said publishers that violate them could be targeted next. The message rejected private negotiations and quiet settlements, insisting that any response must be made public.

Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, had also begun issuing DMCA takedowns targeting leaked material. Those actions did not independently confirm the leak’s authenticity.

It remains unclear how much unreleased GTA 6 material CYBERLEEK may possess, or whether further leaks will follow. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two had publicly responded to the warning as of August 18.

The timing puts the incident close to Rockstar’s next major marketing beat. Take-Two has kept Grand Theft Auto VI’s planned November 19, 2026 release date in place, while an extended look is scheduled for August 27. Any additional material released before then could draw even more attention to the game’s pre-release campaign.
