Among Us v18.0.0 Gives the Judge One Shot to Choose the Ejection
The role must complete tasks to unlock Overrule, but choosing the wrong target ejects the Judge instead.

Among Us update v18.0.0 is live, and the new Judge role can decide who leaves an Emergency Meeting—even when everyone else skips or votes for somebody different. In its Steam announcement, Innersloth detailed the role alongside two changes aimed at making matches easier to follow and Detective encounters less immediate.
The Judge earns access to Overrule by completing tasks. Once the ability is ready, it can eject one Crewmate of the Judge’s choice. There is a very large catch, though: if that player is not the Impostor, the Judge is ejected instead. Overrule can only be used once in a game, so pressing the button is a serious courtroom decision for a bean-shaped detective.
The required task count can be adjusted through Role Settings on the Dropship. That gives lobbies some control over how quickly the Judge reaches the moment of truth, and it means the ability may need to be prepared before the next Emergency Meeting.
Match Info Guide and Detective changes
Update v18.0.0 also adds the Match Info Guide. Players can use it to check which players, roles, and settings are in the current game, giving everyone a clearer way to remember how the lobby was configured.
The Detective’s Interrogate ability now receives a cooldown after Emergency Meetings. Suspects get a little more time before the Detective can press the investigation button again, adding a pause to those post-meeting chases.
Among Us v18.0.0 Patch Notes
The update’s main addition is the Judge’s one-use Overrule ability, while the Match Info Guide and the Detective cooldown adjust how players read and manage a match.
- Use your new Overrule ability to eject a Crewmate of your choice. It doesn’t matter if everyone else skipped voting or chose a different Crewmate.
- Be careful! If you use your Overrule ability on someone who doesn’t turn out to be the Impostor, YOU’RE the one who gets ejected.
- Complete tasks quickly to unlock the ability. Better make sure it’s ready for the next Emergency Meeting!
- You can change the amount of tasks needed to activate the ability in the Role Settings on the Dropship.
- This is a powerful ability, so use it wisely. Overrule can only be used once per game!
- We added a new Match Info Guide so you can check the players, roles, and settings chosen for the game. Maybe this will help you find the lie in someone’s alibi?
- The Detective’s Interrogate ability now has a cooldown after Emergency Meetings. Giving suspects a little time to escape the super sleuths will add a bit more tension and balance the Detective.
