Tarik is stepping away from hosting VALORANT watch parties after several years of doing them. He shared the news on August 13, 2026, in a message on X reproduced in a Reddit post from the competitive VALORANT community.
“Hey guys. To keep it short and sweet, I’m stepping away from hosting watch parties. The past few years have flown by and it’s been a hell of a ride,” Tarik wrote. He added, “After a short break, I’ll be back to gaming streams. Thanks for the memories ❤️”
The message, timestamped 8:22 p.m. on August 13, also thanked everyone who had been part of the watch-party run.
Tarik’s watch parties became part of VCT viewing
Tarik’s broadcasts became a regular part of major VALORANT events, especially the game’s Champions Tour competitions. Riot Games frequently included him among its official North American co-streamers for VALORANT Champions, putting his coverage alongside the main broadcasts.
Before becoming one of VALORANT‘s biggest co-streamers, Tarik was the MVP of the 2018 Counter-Strike Boston Major and joined Sentinels as a content creator in 2022.
Professional players including TenZ and JohnQT also joined Tarik’s streams, adding player-focused commentary and inside context to key series. In April 2025, Ben Affleck joined a Tarik watch party during a Sentinels match to promote The Accountant 2. Sentinels’ account of the collaboration linked the promotion to more than five million views across social platforms within days.
The audience numbers behind Tarik’s broadcasts were strong as well. Streams Charts ranked him No. 1 among VALORANT streamers for 2025, with 25.6 million hours watched across Twitch and YouTube. Óscar ‘mixwell’ Cañellas ranked second with 14.4 million hours watched in the same ranking, according to Streams Charts’ figures.
Tarik’s coverage during VALORANT Champions Paris 2025 generated more than 2.2 million hours watched, while co-streams accounted for 58.4% of the event’s total viewership, according to Esports Charts’ event figures.
He did not share a timeline for the break or say whether he plans to host watch parties again. For now, his only announced next step is a return to gaming streams after taking some time away.
