SAND: Raiders of Sophie Update #7 Adds Pings and a Heap of Fixes

The patch adds a middle-mouse ping, addresses anti-cheat and turret problems, and documents several issues that remain.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie Update #7 is now live, giving players a much-requested way to communicate and fixing problems across Tramplers, turrets, crafting, terrain, and character behavior. Hologryph and tinyBuild Games detailed the changes in the Steam update post.

The biggest addition is an in-game ping system. Players can now use the middle mouse button to mark points during an expedition, which should make coordinating with a crew easier when voice chat is not an option.

Character death behavior has also been reworked. The patch improves where defeated characters appear and fixes a problem that could respawn someone outside their Trampler. Teams of four can now select Small Crews, while a new sound effect plays when someone interacts with a Trampler ownership device.

Turret handling receives several fixes as well. Packed turrets are now grabbed, incorrect auto-cannon firing speeds have been fixed, and players should no longer be able to mount the same turret at the same time. The update also fixes a problem that prevented turret ammunition from being loaded when a different ammo type was already stored inside.

Other changes cover island crafting, map positioning, terrain seams on Low and Medium settings, broken-compartment visibility, ladder interactions, Repair Kit effects, and the tutorial restarting after a game restart. Hologryph also fixed an anti-cheat false positive that could happen while respawning on a moving Trampler.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie Update #7 Patch Notes

Update #7 focuses on smoother expeditions and fewer frustrating edge cases. The new ping tool improves team communication, while the Trampler, turret, respawn, and anti-cheat fixes target problems that could disrupt a run or interfere with combat.

The developers also kept a list of known issues, including invite problems during the tutorial, visual clipping, inconsistent Upior damage feedback, shotgun damage at close range, and a possible ban triggered by jumping on an enemy character’s head.
