NBA 2K26 will be available to Steam players at no cost from August 7 through August 14. The week-long promotion gives PC players access to the full game as the countdown to NBA 2K27 begins, according to a Steam announcement.
Rather than limiting the offer to one small slice of the game, the free week includes the main NBA 2K26 experience. Players can follow the MyCAREER storyline, compete with past and present All-Stars in MyTEAM, and play with friends in The City.

MyCAREER provides the story-focused route, while MyTEAM centers on matchups featuring basketball stars from different eras. The City adds a social space for players who want to take their games online with friends.
The promotion runs for one week, ending on August 14. Steam users who want to try NBA 2K26 before looking ahead to NBA 2K27 can use the window to sample all three major modes without paying for access during the event.
