Ubisoft Confirms the Next Ghost Recon Game and Plans Closed Tests
Ubisoft says Insider Program participants will receive early access to closed tests, but it has not announced when the first test will begin.

Ubisoft has confirmed that a new Ghost Recon game is in development, with closed tests planned for an unspecified date. Players who want an early look can register for the franchise’s Insider Program, whose participants will receive early access to the game’s Closed Tests.
Ubisoft’s official registration page is now available. Applicants can choose PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or Ubisoft Connect PC, then sign in with a Ubisoft account and complete a registration survey.
The announcement came during the Ghost Recon 25th Anniversary stream. Live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa said the team has spent the past few years building the series’ next chapter and is now ready to test it with players.
Ubisoft wants the project to retain the elements associated with Ghost Recon, including tactical action, large-scale operations, credible military storytelling, and the Ghost Unit. The publisher also described the game as a fresh experience rather than a simple repeat of an earlier entry.
Ghost Recon’s closed tests do not have a date yet
Ubisoft plans to use feedback from the closed tests to optimize and balance the upcoming game. However, the announcement did not reveal when the first test will begin or how players will be selected.
The timing follows an earlier confirmation that Ubisoft would share a Ghost Recon update for August 6 during the franchise’s anniversary celebrations. The news also arrives seven years after Ghost Recon Breakpoint and four years after Ubisoft canceled Ghost Recon: Frontline.
For now, the Insider Program is the clearest path toward the upcoming tests. Ubisoft has not provided a release date or shown how the new game will differ from the series’ recent entries.
