Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered both reached Steam’s global Top Sellers list after Spider-Man: Brand New Day brought in $927 million during its opening weekend.
According to SteamDB’s tracking of Steam’s Top Sellers, Spider-Man 2 held fifth place, while the Remastered version of Insomniac Games’ first title ranked ninth. That gave the superhero series two spots in the platform’s top 10 at the same time.
The timing lines up with the movie’s theatrical launch across the United States, Britain, and other major markets. Fans who watched Peter Parker’s latest big-screen adventure may have looked to the games for more web-swinging action, though the rankings alone cannot prove that the film caused the jump.
Discounts also gave both games a push. Spider-Man 2 was 33% off, and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was discounted by 60%. Those prices made it possible to pick up both games for roughly the cost of one new full-price release.
Spider-Man 2 also features a costume based on Brand New Day, adding another connection between the game and the movie. The series has seen plenty of attention beyond its original releases as well, including a working multiplayer mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered that lets players swing around New York together.
Players who finish Peter Parker’s first two adventures should not overlook Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The shorter side story bridges the two main games and gives Miles a more central role alongside Peter.
