GTA Online’s Casino Games Are No Longer Available to Players in Australia
Australian players are seeing an access notice when they try to use blackjack, roulette, poker, and other Diamond Casino features.
GTA Online players in Australia can no longer use the game’s simulated gambling features. Players trying to enter blackjack, roulette, Three Card Poker, and other Diamond Casino activities are receiving a message saying, “this feature is not available for you.”
The restriction covers more than the casino table games. The affected features include Casino House, Three Card Poker, Inside Track, Lucky Wheel, Blackjack, Roulette, and Slots. Reports from Australian players appeared on July 28, 2026, and an examination of the game’s code pointed to a territory-based block.
Rockstar Games has not publicly explained the change in the provided reporting. The timing lines up with Australia’s wider work on online gambling harm reforms, though the restriction could also relate to the game’s classification status.
GTA Online already carries an R18+ classification in Australia because of its simulated gambling. Players buy Casino Chips with GTA$, which they can earn in the game or obtain indirectly through Shark Cash Cards purchased with real money. Winnings cannot be converted into real-world currency, so the Diamond Casino does not provide a legal way to gamble for cash prizes.
However, the game’s use of real money elsewhere in the economy still means players can spend real money on access to the in-game currency used for the casino. That distinction has kept the feature within Australia’s existing classification framework, at least until now.
A separate clue came from an Xbox classification record updated on July 22, 2026. The listing uses the automated IARC rating system, and its consumer advice does not mention “high impact gambling.” That warning would be expected if the Diamond Casino’s gambling content were still available in the version covered by the classification.
The restriction has also been documented in a post showing that Australian players are blocked from the casino features.

It is not yet clear whether the block will remain permanent. Australia would join countries including South Africa, Poland, China, and Argentina where GTA Online’s simulated gambling features are unavailable. The decision could also affect any future online component of GTA 6 if Rockstar includes similar activities.
Rockstar Games was asked for a statement about the restriction.
