Jay and Silent Bob are heading into the farming-sim business, and their first crop will be cannabis. Jay and Silent Bob’s Joint Venture is a new cozy life sim from Starworks Studios that will come to Steam sometime in 2027.
The game will begin with the pair working from a trashed yard using old tools and a small supply of seeds. Players will grow different weed varieties, improve their home from a rundown hovel into a more comfortable pad, and sell their harvest outside the Quick Stop.
That setup gives Joint Venture a very different flavor from the usual farm sim. The game will include dumpster diving, interactions with dozens of characters from Kevin Smith’s films, and trips to recognizable locations such as the Mall, RST Video, and the Quick Stop.
Starworks Studios is also behind the 3D platformer Timeworks and the upcoming Boast Guards. The studio’s new project is already listed on Steam as Jay and Silent Bob’s Joint Venture.
Jay and Silent Bob’s gaming history keeps growing
The characters first appeared in Clerks in 1994 before becoming recurring figures across Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse films. Their game appearances have included the 2020 beat ’em up Jay and Silent Bob Mall Brawl and Atari’s Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, which was published in April.
They have also appeared in two phone games, an in-development VR title, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Joint Venture looks more focused on character writing and familiar film locations than on beat ’em up action, which may give fans a different reason to visit the Quick Stop.
There is no firm release date beyond the 2027 window, so the farming operation still has plenty of time to grow before it reaches Steam.
