War Thunder has started a birthday promotion honoring aircraft designer Pavel Osipovich Sukhoi. Players can get 30% off Sukhoi aircraft from July 22 at 11:00 GMT through July 25 at 11:00 GMT.
The sale is available under USSR > Aviation > Premium vehicles. The official Steam announcement also confirms that the Su-7BMK can only be purchased during this promotion, giving collectors a limited window to pick it up.
Sukhoi was born on July 22, 1895. While studying in Gomel during the early 1910s, he saw aviator Sergei Utochkin fly and decided to pursue aircraft design. During the 1920s and 1930s, Sukhoi worked under Andrei Tupolev before receiving his own design bureau after developing the BB-1 bomber, later designated the Su-2.
The Su-2 saw extensive service during the early years of the Second World War. Sukhoi later designed the Su-7, his first production jet aircraft, while the Su-24 frontline bomber remains in service today.
Aircraft included in the promotion
The discounted vehicles are listed with the following prices in Golden Eagles:
- Su-6 — USSR, Rank IV, 2,695 Golden Eagles
- Su-11 — Rank IV, 5,236 Golden Eagles
- Su-7BMK — Rank IV, 6,363 Golden Eagles

The Su-7BMK is an export version of the Su-7B fighter-bomber. It was supplied to the air forces of Algeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, India, Egypt, and Syria. The version featured in War Thunder is based on the Egyptian variant.

The aircraft keeps the Su-7B’s high-speed characteristics and adds two hardpoints. Its forward armament includes two 30 mm cannons, and its available external weapons include rockets, 250 kg and 500 kg high-explosive bombs, and incendiary tanks.
The promotion will remain active until July 25 at 11:00 GMT. Players interested in the Su-7BMK will need to purchase it before the event ends.
