SCUM’s July Update Sends Players After Mutant Wildlife
Version 1.3.2.0.134527 adds the TEC1 Conditioning Facility, three Master Hunter quest tiers, 80-player official servers, and a long list of fixes.

SCUM version 1.3.2.0.134527 is now live on PC, bringing the July update for the Into the Wild season. The patch adds the TEC1 Conditioning Facility, mutant deer, boar, and wolves, plus a new Master Hunter questline with three tiers of challenges and exclusive rewards. The full announcement is available in the official Steam update notes.
Gamepires also confirmed that Into the Wild will continue through August and September. The season was originally planned to run from May through July, but the additional updates will keep building on hunting, cooking, food systems, and fishing.

A new place to learn the basics
The TEC1 Conditioning Facility is a standalone tutorial area designed to teach movement, stealth, crafting, healing, combat, and encounters with puppets before players head into the Island’s usual chaos. It can be accessed by choosing TUTORIAL from the main menu. The facility is separate from Single Player and Multiplayer, and it does not launch automatically when creating a prisoner.
The previous intro cinematic has been removed. Deena now has new voice work and dialogue throughout TEC1, while her Island tutorial lines have been rewritten to match the facility’s presentation.
Island tutorials have also been reorganized. Players can manually select Survival, Crafting, Metabolism, Economy, Base Building, or Hunting from the Tutorials tab. There is no required order, and objectives now focus more on the result than on completing actions in a precise sequence. Completed steps and items obtained through other activities can count toward progress.
Mutant animals and Master Hunter quests
Mutant deer, boar, and wolves now appear in specific locations. They are tougher than their standard counterparts and form the core of the Master Hunter’s new quest lines.

Players must complete one quest to unlock the Master Hunter’s Quest Book. From there, three tiers become available:
- Tier 1: mutant deer
- Tier 2: mutant boars
- Tier 3: mutant wolves
Other objectives can require specific weapons or undamaged hides, meat, antlers, and heads. Kill quality matters, so bringing back damaged materials may not satisfy the quest.
Rewards include the Hunter’s Recurve Bow, Hunter Blackhawk Crossbow, Blackline Compound Bow, multiple skinning knives, hunting equipment, animal charms, trophies, base-building recipes, and parts of the Master Hunter outfit. Physical rewards arrive at the trader depot and unlock for purchase from the Hunter. Base-building rewards instead add recipes directly to the construction menu.
Players can preview locked tiers and their rewards. Animal-kill quests can also receive credit when another prisoner kills the matching animal within 50 meters. Completed quests can no longer be abandoned by accident.

The SCUM 1.0 Anniversary Quest remains available until July 31. It begins at the Hunter trader and rewards the Carbon Hunter Ironpaw weapon skin recipe. No previous quest progress is required. Once unlocked, the skin can be crafted with a Carbon Hunter and a toolbox.
Quality-of-life changes and the Apex Predator Pack
Inventory management gets two useful options. Drop All empties clothing, containers, and vehicles into the vicinity in one action, including items inside searchable objects. Pick Up All then collects everything from the vicinity. Trader depots also receive a Pick Up All button for purchased items.
The Crafting, Cooking, and Base Building tabs have received visual updates to match the revised Inventory UI. The taunt menu now separates base-game and DLC taunts into two categories.
Official servers now support up to 80 players, up from 64. The change follows testing focused on performance and stability.
The separate Apex Predator Pack is also available alongside the update. It includes gear, weapons, charms, base-building items, character customization options, emotes, and selfie poses.
One known issue affects players using DLSS Balanced or Performance with DirectX 11. SCUM may crash while transitioning to the Island. The temporary workarounds are switching to DirectX 12, selecting another DLSS preset, or using a different upscaling method.
