Apex Legends is cracking down on controller aim abuse
Respawn said new in-game detections will flag hardware and software used to manipulate aim assist or recoil, and bans will follow under the game's TOS.

Respawn said in a Steam news post that Apex Legends now treats “jitter aim” and RC filters as cheating when they are used to push aim assist or strip recoil from controllers. The studio said players using hardware or software for that kind of manipulation will be flagged and banned under the game’s TOS.
The update puts a clearer line around controller abuse at a time when Apex Legends is still under pressure to keep competition clean. It also follows the anti-cheat team’s earlier push, including a recent sweep that removed 1,000 accounts in its first week, as the studio kept tightening its enforcement around the game.
Respawn said the crackdown is meant to protect competitive integrity across Apex Legends and support fair play at EWC Paris. The team added that it has alternate anti-cheat approaches ready if needed and will keep monitoring the situation for further changes.
