Zaxoid is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, giving console players a twin-stick shooter that leans hard into the look and feel of classic arcade cabinets. The Xbox Store lists it at $14.99, and the pitch is simple: rack up points, survive the swarm, and keep the run alive.

The game drops players onto a spherical battlefield where movement and aim have to work together. It leans on twin-stick shooting, ship upgrades, and a drone system that grows as the vessel’s CPU core improves, turning each run into a little more firepower and a little more room to breathe.
Its arcade roots are easy to spot. The inspirations named around the game include Asteroids, Defender, Star Castle, Geometry Wars, Gradius, and Thunder Force, but Zaxoid still tries to carve out its own lane with the rounded arena, drone build, and a tank mode meant for surface defense.
If you are into score-chasing shooters with a retro streak, Zaxoid looks built for short runs that keep pulling you back in. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
