PAYDAY 2’s Diesel overhaul is live in open beta
The test brings 64-bit support, DirectX 11 rendering, a 32 GB install target, and a full month of bug hunting through July.

PAYDAY 2 has its Diesel engine upgrade in open beta now, and the test will run through the rest of July. The team says the goal is simple enough: find the rough edges early and get the game ready for a wider release.
Players who run into problems can use the new Open-Beta Bug Reporting forum, and the studio also pointed to its FAQ post for extra details. Mods are another big concern here, since the team warned that they will likely break during the beta and suggested backing up save data before jumping in.
The update brings the game to 64-bit, moves the renderer to DirectX 11, cuts the install size to roughly 32 GB, and trims load times on SSDs. It also shortens lobby codes, updates voice chat for Epic Online Services matchmaking, and folds in a pile of fixes for weapons, heists, skins, input, and the interface.
