Meccha Chameleon’s 2.3.0 patch changes how Hunters spend ammo

The June 29 update made Hunter ammo optional, raised the server-tag cap to five, and fixed several UI and mode bugs.

Meccha Chameleon update2.3.0 arrived on June 29, 2026, and it shifts the Hunter-versus-Hider flow with a new ammo limit option, a higher server-tag cap, and a set of fixes across the UI and match modes.

Patch Notes

The headline change is the new ammo system for Hunters. Ammo loss now depends on accuracy, fleeing players do not spend ammo, and Hiders win if every Hunter runs out. Beyond that, the patch cleans up server tags, a Hunter UI problem, the victory banner, and clone behavior outside Double Mode.

  • Added ammo limits for Hunters (Can be toggled in options)
1 ammo is consumed on a miss, and 1 ammo is restored on a hit.
No ammo is consumed when shooting at fleeing players.
If all Hunters run out of ammo, the Hiders win.
  • Increased the maximum number of server tags to 5
  • Fixed an issue where duplicate server tags could be set
  • Fixed an issue where the Body Type UI could not be closed when becoming a Hunter
  • Fixed an issue where “Hunter Victory” was displayed under all conditions
  • Fixed an issue where clones did not disappear instantly in modes other than Double Mode
