In a June 17 update, the Apex Legends anti-cheat team said a new detection system had already removed 1,000 accounts in its first week. The tool was put into the live game after extensive verification, and the team said it is still being tuned as its reach expands.
The bans also targeted Xim and Titan users, which the team said was part of a broader effort against cheating hardware. It added that the current total came while enforcement was still conservative, so the number should climb in the coming weeks.
The team also ran a focused leaderboard sweep aimed at the top 100 positions on each platform. That action led to 79 console bans and 7 PC bans, and some familiar names may now be missing from the boards.
Beyond those waves, the team said it is still working on more controller-cheating detections. It described the effort as ongoing, with large amounts of match data still being reviewed and more protections planned as it tries to keep false positives low.
