007 First Light has already passed three million sales, and Amazon Games head of gaming Jeff Gattis is not shutting the door on a follow-up. Speaking to IGN at Summer Games Fest, Gattis said the next step depends on market appetite and added, “Seems like a sequel should be made.”
Gattis also said, “As long as we feel there’s a desire for players to have the game, it’s safe to say it’s going to get made.” That is not a formal confirmation, but it is a clear sign that Amazon is open to more Bond after the strong start for IO Interactive’s game.
He did not say Amazon Game Studios would definitely publish a sequel, though he did praise IO Interactive as a strong partner and said he visited the Copenhagen studio a couple of months before 007 First Light launched on May 27.
The studio still has more planned for the game this year, including TacSim challenges, gadgets, photo mode, and New Game+ in later updates.
