Conan Exiles’ May hotfix tackles crashes and awkward mod loading
Version 1.0.1 also raised the default allowed ping to 300 and disabled Living Settlements on three official servers.
Funcom posted Conan Exiles May Hotfix 1.0.1 on May 6, and the patch stayed focused on stability and mod handling. It fixed an intermittent server crash, cleaned up a dedicated-server problem with renamed mod pak files, and addressed the slow boot and memory issues tied to Legacy mods.
The update also raised the default allowed ping to 300, up from 200. On the server side, Living Settlements were disabled on official servers 1516, 1942, and 1509.

Here are the full notes Funcom posted for the hotfix. The patch centered on server stability, mod loading, and a small change to ping handling for players on less stable connections.
- Fixed an intermittent server crash.
- Fixed an issue loading mod pak files that have been renamed on dedicated servers.
- Fixed an issue where the game could take a long time to boot or run out of memory mounting pak files from Legacy mods.
- Startup videos should now be skippable on most systems after preloading completes.
- Legacy mods will be ignored but initially remain in the modlist.txt.
- If active mods are modified, then Legacy mods will be removed from modlist.txt.
- Default allowed ping increased to 300 (from 200)
- Living settlements disabled for the following official servers:
- 1516
- 1942
- 1509
