Ubisoft’s two-word answer to the Invictus leak said enough
The official Assassin's Creed account said the image may have started as a private test before being heavily altered.

Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed account had a terse answer for the latest Invictus rumor, and it came after another round of franchise leak chatter that also includes Black Flag Resynced.
The image in question showed a lone character holding two weapons in a plain, untextured space, which makes it look more like a rough test frame than anything close to a finished reveal. Even so, it spread fast enough to draw a response from Ubisoft.
On X, the company replied, “Nice try,” and said the picture may have started as an image from a private test before being “heavily altered (most probably with AI).” Ubisoft also pushed back on the gossip by saying it was “Not great to spread misinformation.”
Nice try… This might have started as an image from our private test, but it’s been heavily altered (most probably with AI). Not great to spread misinformation. 👎
For those genuinely curious about the project: we'll share more when the time is right!

That still leaves Invictus in the same place it has been for a while: a dedicated multiplayer Assassin’s Creed project with very little official detail on it. Ubisoft said people who are genuinely curious will hear more when the time is right.
If Ubisoft has more to say about Invictus, it will probably have to do better than a blurry screenshot. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
